About Dr. Ricky Hornblass

Dr. Hornblass is a graduate of St. John’s University’s clinical psychology doctoral program and a fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute, the world-renowned training institute for rational emotive behavioral therapy (a form of cognitive behavior therapy). She has expertise in treating adults, children, and families utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Dr. Hornblass specializes in the treatment of generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depression, panic disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder. In addition, she has extensive experience in working with children, adolescents, and families who are addressing behavioral difficulties, social skills deficits, relationship issues, and parenting challenges.

Therapeutic Approach

Dr. Hornblass’ therapeutic approach emphasizes a collaborative relationship between client and therapist, in which clients are guided in changing their thinking patterns, thereby addressing the source of the behaviors and emotions they wish to target.Therapy focuses on empowering clients to make the changes they need while in therapy and then gives clients the tools they need to maintain those changes once the therapeutic relationship has ended.
